La Malul Bistriței restaurant offers a surprising combination of handcrafted pizzas, a small menu of essential Romanian dishes and a changing daily special, such as gulaș, a stew made with fresh wild mushrooms or a traditional ciorbă.
What do all our dishes have in common? Everything is prepared fresh, using as many ingredients as possible from our immediate surroundings. Our bread comes from the young baker Dori, and our cheese from his brother Alin. We pick the mushrooms ourselves in the forest, while much of our fruit comes straight from the mountains around Cârlibaba.
Breakfast and desserts are where the character of our kitchen truly shines: a wide selection of homemade jams made from wild berries and local fruit. And of course our own zacuscă — because no Romanian breakfast is complete without it.
The result is not complicated cuisine, but honest food from Bucovina: fresh, local and homemade wherever possible.
